Treatment Methods

Chiropractic Adjustments

are done with the doctor's hands, or with a specially designed instrument. Adjustments are made with carefully directed and controlled pressure. Some adjusting methods are quick, while others require a slow and constant pressure. Each individual patient is treated with methods that work best for his or her body. Chiropractic adjusting methods used by Dr. Miller include: drop table, activator, diversified and flexion/distraction.

Therapeutic Massage Therapy

is the hands on manipulation of soft tissue (muscles, tendons, fascia and ligaments) for therapeutic purposes. Our massage therapists use a variety of styles and skills to meet the diverse needs of our patients, including: Swedish, Myofascial, Tuina Chinese Massage, Rehabilitative, and Feldenkrais based body work. Massage therapy can help improve circulation, reduce chronic pain and help reduce swelling at the site of recent injuries. Massage therapy used in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments can provide greater pain relief and can increase range of motion.

Neuromuscular Re-education

involves deep pressure in specific areas of soft tissue surrounding an injury or a joint. Active people tend to respond quickly to NMR, for both acute and chronic problems. NMR is very effective in the treatment of chronic pain and overuse syndromes, providing relief for stubborn problems. Used in conjunction with Chiropractic adjustments and/or Massage Therapy, NMR offers the greatest potential for improved health and mobility.

Neurostructural Therapy

is a subtle, gentle technique that resets your body to heal itself. Dr. Miller gently tractions your skin across the underlying soft tissues. NST can relieve muscle tension and strains, restore normal lymphatic flow and can soften scar tissue. The results may be long lasting and they are often apparent within a couple of sessions. NST is appropriate for everyone from newborns to pregnant women, to athletes and to the elderly and infirm.

Functional Rehabilitation & Therapeutic Exercise

— Dr. Miller designs exercise and rehabilitation programs for many of her patients. She instructs patients in exercise using rehab equipment and in exercise to be done at home.

PhysioTherapy Modalities

are used by Dr. Miller on a regular basis, depending upon each individual patient's symptoms. These include ultra sound, various electrical modalities and cold laser. Often used in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments these modalities help provide pain relief, reduce inflammation and increase mobility.

Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM)

is an advanced form of therapy in which Dr. Miller uses instruments (designed by David Graston) to effectively break down fascial restrictions and scar tissue. Substantial pain relief often occurs within several treatments, even with chronic problems.
